Seaford Town Football Club are very sad to hear of the passing of Bill Mewett. Bill was a significant figure in Seaford football being a referee, a founder member of Seaford Seagulls and subsequently part of the merger committee that saw the creation of Seaford Town Football Club as we know it today. Bill also played an influential role in establishing the club’s youth team trips to DRL Football Club in the Netherlands, a legacy which still continues today when teams are available. Despite being confined to his wheelchair by MS, Bill attended DRL’s last visit to Seaford and helped present prizes at the end of the tournament. Bill was known for his sense of humour and will be fondly remembered by those that knew him. Seaford Town FC send their deepest condolences to all of Bill’s family at this very sad time. As a mark of respect the Club will hold a minutes silence in memory of Bill at all of its home Youth and Senior matches this weekend.
