Season on downward slope ?

By brian amos

No reason it should be.

Clearly THE SQUAD is stronger than before Xmas and we are NOT being beaten but are losing. Why ? Well despite scoring 14 goals in last 6 matches (4 away) we have conceded 18. So 6 matches 32 goals. Are we so determined to play good attacking football that the team has lost the plot, a little, on midfield and defence ? Yesterday the team must have created 15 good chances to score and that's a positive, however only 2 were taken when in fact with 20 mins to play the game should have been all over and a comfortable win recorded. It was not a bad performance and all on the pitch tried their best as they always do and with a great deal of effort. But perhaps that is the problem. Do we need to slow down our play, not play with so much intensity and then cut out individual errors. No doubt Scott /Pat and the players will be having their own thoughts to put matters right because we are definitely a top half table at the end of season. Seaford were 1 down after 5 mins but recovered with a goal from Rainsford to go in at half time 1-1. On 61 Rainford scored again 2-1 but Wick to their credit scored on 73 and 81 to get a win. Squad Webb, Bean, Zabadne, Stracey, Shew, Thomsett, Saunders, B Dartnall , Webber, Kidman, Rainsford. Subs Botting, Haskell, Buckett. Not fielded Pout, Wrangle. Match Sponsor was SHORELINE ACCOUNTANTS.
