Storrington 2 Seaford 1.
2 vital decisions should not mask a poor performance from the lads today. As last week, when a 2 goal lead slipped away, we went 1 up on 38 when Ben Dartnall headed into the net. Decision number 1 this should have been 2-0 when the ball, in most people's opinion, crossed the goal line but was not seen by the linesman so not given. But still 1-0 up at half time. The second half however was not good enough. As Storrington pressed a needless free kick was given and after a bit of a scramble it was 1-1. Decision number 2. Storrington scored on 85. A goal which again looked clearly offside but not seen by officials so final score 2-1 defeat.
As usual the effort was there but sadly for all that effort something is clearly not working as it was just a few weeks ago. The players now have 2 free Saturdays, the next fixture not until the 2nd March at home to Steyning. It's time to rest, regroup and prove in the remaining 8 games that they are a good side which was clearly the case pre the New Year. Squad Webb, Pout, Zabadne, Haskell, Thomsett, Shew, Buckett, B Dartnall, Kidman, Saunders, Rainsford.
Subs Botting for Buckett on 43, Stracey for Rainsford on 65, S Dartnall for Pout on 77.
