Seaford Town Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of a new club Chairman, Tom Webster. Tom will perform as an acting Chairman until his ratification at the upcoming AGM on June 26th.
After meeting with a number of prospective Chairmen the committee unanimously voted for Tom’s appointment. His ‘big thinking’ approach to developing the club inspired the members and everyone is excited to work with Tom to grow STFC and bring success to the club through all levels.
Tom said: “I’m extremely honoured to have been appointed as Chairman. Seaford Town Football Club is in my blood and is an asset to a great town. To be given the opportunity be a part of this new chapter in the clubs history books is a privilege.
I’m a Seafordian born and bred and played my youth football at STFC. I very much credit my experience at ‘Seaford Seagulls’ to building lifelong friendships and having role models to look up to in the Senior’s First Team of which my Father, Tony Webster, played for. I have fond memories of being down the Crouch on a Saturday (rain or shine!) having a kick about on the sidelines with my Brother and the other players kids while they played. The smell of Deep Heat still triggers memories of the clubhouse after the matches!
We are fortunate to have an incredible team of managers and coaches volunteering their time to look after the on-pitch success for our Youth and Senior set up. I will do everything I can to support them to grow and provide a quality footballing experience to Seaford Town FC. I see my main responsibility to be off the pitch. I have four main objectives which will be my focus this Summer in preparation for the upcoming season:
• Raise the profile of the club through a renewed marketing strategy.
• Improve the clubs facilities to the benefit of the town as well as the club.
• Increase clubs revenues through new income streams.
• Build relationships with other local sports teams to promote youth sport participation in Seaford.
I’m very much looking forward to making a positive impact on the club. The potential we have here is huge and together as a community, we can continue to develop and build something the town can be proud of. I'm also looking forward to meeting with and getting feedback from club members and supporters at the upcoming AGM and over the coming season."
As a part of this new chapter, the club has launched an online survey asking club members and local residents for their opinions on the current status of Seaford Town Football Club. We are also interested in hearing peoples ideas for future development. The survey is anonymous and honest feedback is welcomed: click here for the survey.
