For the past few years with the extreme weather our floodlights at The Crouch have taken a real beating. They were installed over 20 years ago and are more than past the end of their life but the club hasn't been able to afford to replace them so we have been patching and repairing with what available funds we have.

This has managed to get us so far but we are caught in a cycle of spending £5,000-£7,000 for each year for repairs which is becoming an annual expense that the club is struggling to keep on top off. We have some money set aside to complete works on the clubhouse to include an accessible toilet and ramps making it more welcoming for those with accessibility needs. Now the lights have broken again and we are caught between repairing old lights or improving the clubhouse as we can't afford to do both. We are looking to our community to help us get out of this cycle so we can invest back into our facilities making them available to more people.

We have our next grid test in October, of which if we fail we will be relegated. Floodlights are an important part of the club as without them in working order the club will not meet the minimum standards of the FA Ground Gradings.

We are looking to completely replace and upgrade the heads of the lights which will come with a new 25 year guarantee. They'll be more energy efficient and gives the club the security and peace of mind to work on other improvement projects around the club for our youth and senior football.
